On Wednesday 24th September 2020 the revamped Colonnades Coles was officially unveiled with a ribbon cutting ceremony for team members. The store now has a new layout allowing plenty of space, an open-style bakery and revamped fruit/vegetable section and deli sections. They have also introduced a fresh new range of meal to go and ready made meals. Perfect for lunches and busy families.

Below is the Media Release from Coles:

More than 40 years since first opening its doors to the community, Coles has unveiled its new-look supermarket at Noarlunga this Wednesday, creating 20 new local jobs in the region and offering an enhanced shopping experience for time-poor customers.

Noarlunga’s new ‘store of the future’ format has been tailored to the ever-increasing customer demand for convenience, with Coles research finding one in three customers do not have the time to cook from scratch and 52 per cent are not interested in cooking more at home.

To cater to Noarlunga’s high concentration of families, the store will launch Coles’ new ‘Coles Kitchen’ ready-made meals range, with more than 100 quick and easy meals, salads, snacks and vegan options across Italian, Asian, Indian and Australian cuisines.

Shoppers will also be able to pick up a bargain while completing their shop, with Coles’ ‘Best Buys’ range launching at the store, featuring products traditionally not sold in supermarkets.
On opening day, customers will be able to pick up value gardening essentials including a 3-in-1 electric blower, vacuum and mulcher for just $39.99 and gardening tools starting at $8.99.
Coles Noarlunga Store Manager Liz Showell, who has worked with Coles for more than 20 years, said the community is already loving the new-look store which has been the go-to supermarket for many Noarlunga locals for many years.

“I — along with many of our regular customers — began shopping at this store when we were teenagers. It’s certainly a significant part of the community, so it’s exciting to see it get a face-lift,” she said.
“We’re also thrilled to inject more jobs into the local region by welcoming 20 new team members to the store including new bakers, fresh produce and customer service team members.
“The feedback from our customers so far has been fantastic — many of our locals have said they’re looking forward to the official reopening, with the brand-new deli and in-store bakery especially anticipated by customers.”

In-store baker Sharon Peterson, who is celebrating 35 years with Coles next month, said she’s excited to bake up a storm at the new-look store after working at Coles Noarlunga for nearly 25 years.
“Having worked in the Noarlunga community for more two decades, I’ve really gotten to know our customers and I’m so happy to be able to offer them a wider variety of freshly baked goods and new store features. Our new open-style bakery will allow shoppers to see the magic happen, as we bake in-store each day,” she said.

“The team at Coles Noarlunga is like a big family, and we’re all looking forward to officially reopening the doors and showing off the fantastic new look.”

The reinvigorated supermarket also features a new market-style fresh produce layout allowing customers more space to browse and shop for their fruit and vegetables, an open-style bakery with an extended range of fresh baked goods and an additional 200 dairy product lines.
