Bakers Delight Gingerbread Spiced French Croissants
4 Bakers Delight Traditional Croissants
5 large eggs
½ tsp vanilla extract
½ tsp cinnamon
½ tsp ground ginger
½ tsp all spice
¼ tsp ground nutmeg
¼ tsp ground cloves
pinch of black pepper
1 large knob of butter
2 tbsp icing sugar, for dusting Fruit mince, for serving (optional)
Vanilla ice cream, for serving (optional)
Split the croissants in half through the middle.
In a shallow dish, whisk together eggs, vanilla, cinnamon, ground ginger, all spice, nutmeg, ground cloves and black pepper. Dunk each croissant half into the mixture, and flip the croissant and dunk again so that it's fully coated. Set pieces aside on a plate.
Heat a large nonstick frying pan over medium-low heat, then melt small amount of butter. Add as many croissant halves which will fit, cut side down. Allow the croissant to cook on the first side for 3 to 4 minutes. Flip the croissants to the other side and let it cook for another 2 minutes. Remove from the pan and repeat with remaining croissant halves.
Serve a top and bottom croissant half together with a scoop or two of vanilla ice-cream and a couple of spoons of fruit mince. Dust with icing sugar and serve immediately.
